Waxing in Dunn, North Carolina
Waxing removes hair from the root, so regrowth takes three to six weeks rather than three days, and it comes back finer over time. We wax face, underarms, bikini, Brazilian and legs. It is done privately, briskly and without commentary — which is most of what people actually want to know before booking.
If it's your first Brazilian
Let's Deal With the Awkward Part
Nearly everybody puts this off longer than they meant to, and always for the same reasons.
Nobody is judging you. Your waxer does this all day, every day. There is no grooming you need to do first, nothing to apologise for, and nothing you can turn up with that has not been seen a hundred times this month.
It is quick. A Brazilian takes about twenty minutes, and the parts that genuinely sting are seconds each, not sustained.
You can talk or not talk. Some people want distraction and some want it done in silence. Say which. Neither is odd.
The first one is the worst one. Hair is at mixed stages and the follicles are not used to it. By the third appointment most people describe it as genuinely fine, and that is not a sales line — it is how the hair cycle works.

Getting it right
How to Prepare
Let it grow to about a quarter of an inch
Roughly two to three weeks of growth. Shorter than that and the wax has nothing to grip, which means patchy results and a second pass. Do not shave to tidy it up beforehand — that resets the clock.
Exfoliate a day or two before, not on the day
Gentle exfoliation lifts hair and clears dead skin. Doing it the same morning leaves skin sensitised and more likely to react.
Time it around your cycle
Skin is more sensitive in the few days before a period. If you can choose, book the week after instead — the difference is real.
Tell us if you use retinoids, tretinoin or acne medication — including on your face. These thin the skin, and waxing over them can lift skin as well as hair. It usually means we wax elsewhere or wait.

Aftercare
How to Avoid Ingrown Hairs
This is the whole game. Ingrowns are not bad luck, they are almost always aftercare.
- First 24–48 hoursNo hot baths, sauna, swimming, sunbeds or heavy workouts. Follicles are open and heat plus sweat is how you get spots.
- Loose clothingEspecially after a Brazilian. Friction on freshly waxed skin is the other half of the problem.
- Start exfoliating at 48 hoursThen two or three times a week, every week. This is the single most effective thing you can do, and the step everyone skips.
- Moisturise dailySoft skin lets hair break through. Dry skin traps it.
- Do not shave between appointmentsIt undoes the cycle you are building and brings the coarse regrowth straight back.
- Rebook at 4–6 weeksStaying on a rhythm is what makes regrowth finer and appointments easier.
Worth knowing
Waxing or Laser?
Both are here, so we have no reason to push you toward either.
Laser makes sense if your hair is dark, you expect to keep removing it for years, and you would rather pay more now and less forever. It does not work on grey, blonde or red hair.
Waxing makes sense if your hair is light, if you want it handled today rather than over eight months, or if you are not ready to commit to a course.
One rule if you are doing both: stop waxing four weeks before laser starts. Laser needs the follicle intact, and waxing removes exactly what it is aiming at.

Questions We Get Asked Most
How long does hair need to be for waxing?
About a quarter of an inch, which is roughly two to three weeks of growth. Shorter and the wax cannot grip properly, which gives patchy results. Do not shave to tidy up beforehand.
Does a Brazilian wax hurt?
The first one is the most uncomfortable, because hair is at mixed stages and the follicles are not used to it. The sharp moments are seconds each rather than sustained, and the whole thing takes about twenty minutes. By the third appointment most people describe it as genuinely manageable.
How do I stop getting ingrown hairs?
Exfoliate two or three times a week starting 48 hours after your appointment, moisturise daily, wear loose clothing for the first couple of days, and avoid heat and heavy workouts for 24 to 48 hours. Ingrowns are nearly always an aftercare problem rather than bad luck.
How often should I get waxed?
Every four to six weeks. Staying on a rhythm is what makes regrowth finer and appointments easier over time. Shaving in between resets that.
Can I get waxed on my period?
Yes, as long as you are wearing a tampon or cup. Skin is more sensitive in the few days beforehand, so if you have a choice, the week after is more comfortable.
Can I wax if I use retinol or acne medication?
Tell us first. Retinoids, tretinoin and some acne medications thin the skin, and waxing over them can lift skin as well as hair. It usually means waiting or waxing a different area.
Should I choose waxing or laser hair removal?
Laser suits dark hair and a long-term commitment, and does not work on grey, blonde or red hair. Waxing suits light hair, immediate results, or not being ready for a course. If you are moving to laser, stop waxing four weeks beforehand — laser needs the follicle intact.
What is a vagacial?
A soothing treatment added to a Brazilian that cleanses, calms and helps clear the skin afterwards. It is particularly worth it if you are prone to bumps or ingrowns.
