Microneedling & PRP in Dunn, NC
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that prompt your skin to build new collagen. We perform it at medical depth under topical numbing — deeper than an at-home roller or a spa facial. Adding PRP, concentrated from a small draw of your own blood, speeds healing and improves the result. Most people need three to four sessions a month apart.
The distinction that matters
Why Isn't This the Same as a Spa Facial?
Three very different things are all sold under the word microneedling. Knowing which one you are buying is most of the decision.
Home rollers
You can buy one online for the price of a lunch. They reach the very top layer of skin, and what they mostly do is help your serums absorb. That is a real benefit and it is not collagen remodelling.
Spa microneedling
In North Carolina a licensed esthetician may microneedle to a maximum depth of 1mm, staying within the epidermis, on specific cleared devices. It is a legitimate service and it is a facial-grade treatment.
Medical-depth microneedling
We numb your face properly and treat past the epidermis, into the layer where collagen is actually made and remodelled. That is a medical procedure, it requires a provider, and it is the version that changes scarring and texture rather than just brightening the surface.
Why we are telling you this. If a price looks unusually low, it is probably the 1mm version. That is worth knowing before you book, not after you wonder why nothing changed.
The upgrade
What Does PRP Actually Add?
PRP is platelet-rich plasma. We take a small draw of your blood, spin it in a centrifuge while your topical numbing works, and separate out the platelet-rich layer.
Those platelets carry growth factors — the signalling molecules your body uses to coordinate repair. We apply the plasma during and immediately after the microneedling pass, while the channels we have created are still open, so it reaches the depth it needs to.
In practice: faster healing, less time looking pink, and a better result from the same number of sessions. Because it comes from you, there is nothing to react to.
You may have seen it called a vampire facial. The nickname does the appointment no favours — it is a blood draw and a numbing cream, and it feels a great deal more ordinary than it sounds.
A fair question
Does Microneedling Actually Work?
People ask us this constantly, usually after spending money on something that did nothing.
Yes, for the things it is meant for — and that qualifier is the whole answer. Collagen induction is a well-documented response to controlled dermal injury. It is one of the better-supported treatments in aesthetics, and it is also routinely oversold.
Where it performs: acne scarring, rough texture, enlarged pores, fine lines and overall dullness. Improvement builds across a course of sessions rather than appearing after one.
Where it does not: a softening jawline, deep folds, or volume you have lost. Needles do not tighten loose tissue and they do not replace volume. If that is your concern, microneedling will disappoint you, and we would rather say so now than take your money four times.
It also will not work on one session. This is the single most common reason people conclude it does not work at all.

Choosing between them
Microneedling, PRP or Morpheus8?
Three treatments, one needle cartridge, three different jobs. This is the table we end up drawing on paper at nearly every consultation.
| Microneedling | Microneedling + PRP | Morpheus8 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reaches | Surface and upper dermis | Surface and upper dermis | Adds radiofrequency to the deeper layer |
| Best for | Texture, pores, fine lines, dullness | The same, plus scarring and faster healing | Jawline laxity, jowling, deeper scarring |
| Blood draw | No | Yes, a small one | No |
| Downtime | 1–2 days | 1–2 days, usually shorter | 2–4 days |
| Sessions | 3–4, a month apart | 3–4, a month apart | Usually 3 |

What to expect
Your Appointment
Topical anaesthetic goes on first and sits for about thirty minutes. If you are having PRP, we draw your blood and spin it during that wait, so nothing is added to your appointment time.
The pass itself takes fifteen to twenty minutes for a full face. You will feel vibration and pressure, and a sharper sensation along the forehead and jaw where the skin sits close to bone. Most people describe it as very manageable.
Allow about an hour in the building. You will leave flushed and slightly swollen, which settles overnight.
Recovery
Your Downtime
Light, predictable, and far easier than Morpheus8 or CO2 — which is why this suits people who cannot disappear for a week.
- Day 0Red and warm, like a moderate sunburn. Skin feels tight. No makeup for the rest of the day.
- Day 1Still pink and a little swollen. Most people go to work. PRP tends to shorten this.
- Days 2–3Fine flaking as the surface turns over. Mineral makeup is fine from forty-eight hours.
- Weeks 4–8Collagen keeps building quietly after the last session. The result arrives later than the appointment.
Before an event: leave two weeks. One is survivable; two means you look rested rather than recently treated.
The plan, and the cost
How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Three to four, spaced about a month apart. Significant acne scarring sometimes needs six. Maintenance after that is typically one or two a year.
On cost: we publish ranges rather than a price list, because what you need depends on your skin, your scarring and whether PRP makes sense for you. You will have an exact figure before anything is booked, and we will never add to it on the day.
What we will also do is tell you if a course is not worth it for you. A single session of anything is a poor investment, and we would rather you spent the money on the right treatment than four of the wrong one.

Questions We Get Asked Most
Does microneedling really work?
Yes, for texture, pores, fine lines, dullness and acne scarring — collagen induction is one of the better-supported responses in aesthetics. It does not tighten a softening jawline or replace lost volume, and it does not work in a single session. Most disappointment comes from expecting one of those three things.
Does microneedling hurt?
With thirty minutes of topical numbing, most people find it very manageable — vibration and pressure rather than sharp pain. The forehead and jawline are the sharper spots, where skin sits close to bone.
How many microneedling sessions do I need?
Three to four, about a month apart. Significant acne scarring sometimes needs six. After that, one or two a year holds the result.
Is microneedling with PRP worth the extra cost?
For scarring, generally yes. The growth factors in your own plasma shorten healing and improve what you get from the same number of sessions. For mild texture or dullness alone, standard microneedling often does the job. We will give you a straight answer at your consultation rather than defaulting to the more expensive option.
What is the difference between microneedling and Morpheus8?
Microneedling works on the surface and upper dermis — texture, pores, fine lines, scarring. Morpheus8 delivers radiofrequency heat into the deeper layer, which is what lets it address laxity and early jowling. More capability, more downtime.
Is a vampire facial the same as microneedling with PRP?
Yes. "Vampire facial" is a nickname for microneedling with platelet-rich plasma. The appointment is a small blood draw and a numbing cream, and it is considerably less dramatic than the name suggests.
How much does microneedling cost?
We publish ranges rather than a fixed price list, because the right plan depends on your skin, your scarring and whether PRP is worthwhile for you. You will have an exact figure before you book, and nothing gets added on the day.
Can I microneedle if I have active acne or rosacea?
Active acne usually needs settling first, because treating through a breakout can spread it. Rosacea depends on how reactive your skin is on the day. Both are exactly the kind of thing your consultation is for.
