Dermal Fillers & Lip Enhancement in Dunn, NC

Dermal fillers replace volume that has been lost, rather than softening muscle movement the way wrinkle relaxers do. We use hyaluronic acid fillers for lips, cheeks, under-eye hollows, nasolabial folds and jawline definition. Filler is priced by the syringe and placed by a nurse practitioner.

Fillers or Wrinkle Relaxers?

It is the most useful distinction in aesthetics, and most people arrive unsure which one they need.

The simple test

Look in a mirror and relax your face completely.

Lines that only appear when you move — when you frown, smile or raise your brows — are usually a wrinkle relaxer conversation. The muscle is creasing the skin.

Lines and hollows that sit there when your face is completely still are usually a filler conversation. Volume underneath has gone, and no amount of relaxing the muscle will bring it back.

Plenty of people need a little of both. And we will tell you if you need neither.

The worry everybody has

On Lips Specifically

Most people who ask about lip filler are worried about exactly one thing: looking overfilled. That is a dosing decision, not an inevitability.

We start with half a syringe on most first-time lip patients. You leave with lips that look like yours on a good day, and you can always come back for more.

The people whose lips look obviously done did not get there in one visit either. It happens gradually, when nobody is calling a stop. We would rather be the practice that says you have enough.

What to expect

Swelling & Downtime

Lips swell the most and settle the fastest. Plan around it.

  • Day 0Treatment takes 30–45 minutes including numbing. You will see volume immediately, and so will the swelling.
  • Days 1–3Peak swelling, particularly in lips. Bruising is possible and can last up to a week. Ice helps; so does sleeping propped up.
  • 2 weeksFully settled. This is the real result, and the point at which we assess whether you want more.
  • 6–12 monthsFiller gradually metabolises. Lips tend to go faster than cheeks or jawline.

Do not book filler the week before an event. Not a wedding, not a photo shoot, not a reunion. Three weeks ahead is comfortable; four is better.

Why we use HA

It Is Reversible

Provider preparing a syringe for a dermal filler treatment

A real safety advantage

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. If you do not like the result, or if there is a complication, it can be undone.

That is not true of permanent or semi-permanent fillers, which is exactly why we do not use them. A treatment you can reverse is a treatment you can be conservative with, because a mistake is correctable rather than permanent.

What it costs

Priced By The Syringe

Filler is priced per syringe, and most first-time lip patients start with half. Cheeks and jawline generally take more than lips, because the areas are larger.

Current ranges are shown when you book online, and your provider gives you an exact figure at your consultation before anything is placed.

Questions We Get Asked Most

How much is lip filler in Dunn, NC?

Filler is priced by the syringe. Most first-time lip patients start with half a syringe. Current ranges are shown when you book online, and you receive an exact figure at your consultation before treatment.

How long does lip filler last?

Typically six to twelve months depending on the product, the area and your metabolism. Lips tend to metabolise filler faster than cheeks or jawline.

Will it look obvious?

Not at the doses we start with. We place conservatively and stage treatment across visits rather than doing everything at once, so you can stop at the point you like.

Can dermal filler be removed?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, which is one of the main reasons we use them rather than permanent fillers.

Does lip filler hurt?

We numb first with topical anaesthetic, and the fillers themselves contain lidocaine. Most people describe pressure rather than pain. The appointment runs 30 to 45 minutes including numbing time.

How long before an event should I get filler?

Three weeks minimum, four is better. Swelling peaks in the first three days and bruising can last up to a week, so the week before an event is the wrong time.
