Facials in Dunn, North Carolina
A facial cleanses, exfoliates and treats the skin — and which one you need depends on what your skin is doing that month rather than which name sounds best. We offer dermaplaning, a stem cell facial, our signature experience, and a medical-grade radiance treatment. If you are not sure, book the signature and let us choose on the day.
Choosing
Which Facial Do I Actually Need?
Most people book by name. It works better to book by problem.
| If your skin is… | Book | Because |
|---|---|---|
| Dull, with peach fuzz | Express Dermaplaning Facial | Removes fine hair and dead surface skin; makeup sits noticeably better |
| Tired and lacking bounce | AquafirmeXS Stem Cell Facial | Deeper hydration and resurfacing than a standard facial |
| Congested or uneven | Medical Radiance & Renewal | A stronger treatment for texture and tone |
| Just... neglected | The Lexel Signature Skin Experience | The full-length one. Assessed and built for you on the day |
| Only got 30 minutes | Dermaplaning standalone | Quick, no downtime, immediate difference |
The one people ask about
What Is Dermaplaning, and Will the Hair Grow Back Thicker?
Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade held at an angle to lift away dead surface skin and vellus hair — the fine, soft hair people call peach fuzz. It takes about twenty minutes and there is no downtime.
And no, it does not grow back thicker or darker. That belief is extremely persistent and it is simply wrong. Vellus hair has a fixed texture and colour; cutting it straight across gives a blunt tip rather than the naturally tapered one, which can feel coarser for a few days. It is the same hair.
What you actually notice is that foundation stops clinging to fuzz and your skin looks lit rather than matte. It is the single most reliable before-an-event treatment we offer.

What to expect
Your Appointment
- A look at your skin firstTwo minutes that change what gets used. Tell us about retinoids, acne medication, recent sun and any allergies.
- Cleanse and exfoliateThen whatever the treatment calls for — extraction, resurfacing, a mask, or the blade.
- MassageFace, neck and shoulders. The part nobody wants to end.
- FinishSerum, moisturiser and SPF. You leave able to go straight out.
Before an event: book a facial three to five days ahead rather than the morning of. Skin occasionally purges a little, and you want that to happen before the photographs, not during them.

Worth knowing
Where a Facial Stops and Medical Treatment Begins
Facials at Lexel are performed by licensed esthetics professionals, and North Carolina sets a clear boundary around that scope: superficial exfoliation only, with nothing penetrating beyond the epidermis.
That is not a limitation you should worry about — it is the whole point of a facial. But it does mean that if what you want is a change to acne scarring, deep lines, pigment or laxity, a facial will not get you there, however many you book.
Those are medical treatments, and conveniently they are in the same building. Nobody here will keep selling you facials for a problem that needs a laser.

Questions We Get Asked Most
Does dermaplaning make hair grow back thicker?
No. Vellus hair has a fixed texture and colour, and cutting it leaves a blunt tip rather than a tapered one, which can feel slightly coarser for a few days. It is the same hair growing back the same way. This is the most persistent myth in skincare.
How often should I have a facial?
Every four to six weeks suits most people, which roughly follows the skin's turnover cycle. Dermaplaning is usually every four weeks. More often than that rarely adds anything.
Which facial is best for me?
Book by problem rather than by name. Dull skin with peach fuzz points to dermaplaning; tired skin lacking bounce to the stem cell facial; congestion and uneven tone to the Medical Radiance and Renewal. If you are unsure, book the Signature and we will assess and choose on the day.
Can I have a facial before an event?
Yes, but book it three to five days ahead rather than the same morning. Skin occasionally purges slightly afterwards, and you want that behind you before the photographs.
Is there any downtime after a facial?
Generally none. Some redness for an hour or two is normal, more so after a stronger treatment. Dermaplaning has no downtime at all.
Can I have a facial if I use retinol or acne medication?
Tell us before we start, because both change what is safe to use and dermaplaning in particular may need to wait. It is not usually a no, but it does change the plan.
Will a facial clear my acne or fade my scarring?
A facial helps congestion and keeps skin clear, but acne scarring, deep lines, pigment and laxity are structural and need medical treatment — microneedling, laser or resurfacing. We will tell you if that is what you actually need rather than booking you in repeatedly.
Can I combine a facial with a head spa?
Yes, and it is the most popular combination. The 120-minute Treat Yourself Platinum includes a facial with the head spa.
